Stage Equipment Installation Technician

SALARY$25-$35/hour, depending on experience

NOTE: Payscale will be determined by Supervisor based on experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Takes part in installation and repairs of stage, performance, and theatrical rigging systems in various performance spaces and venues
  • Osha 10 Certification
  • Displays eagerness and excitement to learn new things
  • Assists Foreman in job site organization and site system layouts
  • Produces daily field reports as directed
  • Performs hardware and software upgrades as needed
  • Ensures management personnel receive all applicable project paperwork in a timely manner when directed by senior levels
  • Exceeds customer expectations for service and responsiveness
  • Represents the interests of Musson through a positive and customer focused attitude.
  • Works with site team to develop action plans and resolutions when field issues arise
  • to ensure project completion within time restraints
  • Stays up to date on the latest installation procedures, and general practice of the industry.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electronic test tools

  • Willing to travel up to 75% of the time
  • Must have clean driving record
  • Must have ability to rent a vehicle for company travel

  • Ability to complete self-propelled boom and scissors lift training

Stage Equipment Installation Lead

LOCATIONSanta Clara, CA

SALARY$35-$40/hour, depending on experience

NOTE: Starting tier and pay scale will be determined by Field Service Supervisor based on our company guidelines.

POSITION SUMMARY: The installation lead will be responsible for overseeing Musson’s team of installation technicians while on project sites.  This position will report directly to the Installations and Field Service Supervisor, operating primarily from job sites to ensure a successful job completion from beginning to end.  When not overseeing installations, this position will have various responsibilities as required.  The person in this position will be responsible for supervising the installation and repair of stage rigging systems: including but not limited to, custom motorized winches, counterweight equipment, dead hung equipment, fire curtains and smoke hatches, pipe grids, track and drape, motorized projection screen etc.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Represents the interests of Musson to our clients through positive and customer focused attitude
  • Takes part in installation and repairs of stage, performance, and theatrical equipment in various performance spaces and venues
  • Keeps a clean well-organized jobsite
  • Attends jobsite related meetings as required
  • OSHA 30 Certification
  • Acts as liaison between jobsite staff and Musson management teams
  • Keeps accurate, up to date, well organized job site documentation
  • Performs effective end-user training on scopes of work performed by Musson
  • Provides technical support when needed
  • Ensures management receives applicable documentation in a timely manner.
  • Exceeds customer expectations for service and responsiveness
  • Works with project team to develop action plans and resolutions when field issues arise to ensure Project completion within time restraints

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • ETCP Certified Rigger – Theatre
  • Degree in Technical Theatre or related technical field, or 3-6 years professional experience
  • Qualified to operate self-propelled boom lifts and scissors lifts.
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Strong knowledge of various systems pertaining to entertainment spaces
  • Knowledge of construction industry practices and procedures
  • Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Strong degree of flexibility and independence, and self-motivation
  • Proficient computer skills using programs such as Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam
  • Able to use hand tools, power tools, and electronic test tools
  • Able to travel as required
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record and valid license
  • Ability to work weekend and evenings as required
  • Ability to work within a construction site and manage crews appropriately
  • Able to lift up to 65 pounds
  • Must be willing to submit to a background check after offer of employment
  • Must be able to pass a drug test if required
