Stage Curtains - Encore Synthetic Velour
Encore Synthetic Velour is one of the most popular velour fabrics in the industry and a great option for outdoor venues or any location where humidity is a concern. Like Synthetic Velour, it's made from polyester filaments and offers increased tear resistance and inherent flame retardance (which will not wash out like cotton). The biggest difference is how the nap/pile is created, Encore is brushed instead of woven like most velour. You can find specifications at the bottom of this page.
Another popular option is KM Fabric's Synthetic Velour, which is a woven fabric instead of brushed.
We also have traditional 100% Cotton Velour.

Flame Resistance
Synthetic fabric is inherently flame retardant, which will NOT wash out if cleaned. Most states require drapery to include a burn test strip, and be tagged with manufacture date and treatment method.
Manufactured to meet or exceed:
- NFPA 701-2010, Test Method #1
- California Title 19, Test # 1237.1, Small Scale
- California F-52101
- Canada ULC S-109
Flame Resistance is permanent for the life of the fabric. However, atmospheric conditions can alter the effectiveness of the flame resistance, annual testing for flame resistance is recommended.
