A DMX Terminator must be plugged into the last outlet of a DMX daisy chain circuit in order for it to function properly. One of the most common causes of malfunctioning (flickering/erratic) DMX devices is a non-terminated DMX line.
- The following ETC fixtures are not self-terminating, and require a DMX Terminator:
- Source 4WRD
- ColorSource Series (typically uses 5-pin connections, see this 5-pin Terminator)
- Relevé Spot (uses 5-pin connections, see this 5-pin Terminator)
- Selador Classic (uses 5-pin connections, see this 5-pin Terminator)
- The following ETC fixtures self-terminate, no DMX Terminator needed:
