ETC Console Windows 7 Upgrade

• Program is officially discontinued as of March 31^st 2021, information below is for reference only.
• Since 2014 ETC upgraded thousands of legacy consoles to Windows 7.  In late 2019 they announced the program would end in December 2020, however due to the pandemic extended the program for an additional 3 months.
  
  Have a legacy Windows XP console?

  • It will continue to run Eos v2.9 software and be eligible for out-of-warranty (paid) factory repairs
  • In order to use Eos v3.0 software you need a Windows 7 based console or Windows 10 based ETCnomad system

Did you know that most Element, Ion Classic, & Congo consoles made before May 2014 are running Windows XP?  This service will upgrade your eligible console from Windows XP to Windows 7.  Includes a new motherboard, solid state hard drive, multi-touch monitor compatibility, and a 4-month extended warranty.  Full Rebuilds also include face panel and other internal updates to support Windows 7.

• Not all consoles are eligible, see this page for details.  In general:

  • Element All consoles are eligible for an Upgrade
  • Ion Classic, Congo Jr Consoles made before July 24, 2009 can be Rebuilt.  Consoles made between July 2009 and May 2014 can be Upgraded.
  • Congo Light Server, Ion RPU, Net3 RVI, & Eos RPU May be eligible for an Upgrade, see link above.

• Requires shipping console back to ETC, typically takes 3-4 weeks*
• Loaner consoles may be available, but are on a first-come, first-served basis and not guaranteed
• Console Serial Number Look on the right side (near the back) of the console for a white sticker
• Requires shipping to ETC's factory in Wisconsin (not included)
• Hardware upgrade only.  Does not unlock additional universe outputs unless you previously purchased an upgrade.
• Do you have universal fader wings, and do they NOT have an orange USB connector on the back?
  After this update they can't be docked directly to your console and will need a USB cable connection.  See this page, or include serial numbers for your fader wings with your request.
• * Assuming you still have the original packaging, or a safe way to ship the console.  Replacement packaging is available, but typically takes a week to arrive after an order is placed.
